Church of Our Lady of the Rosary
Having originally been a ruined chapel, the parish was established in 1734. Subsequently, in 1862, the General Board made some repairs so that the population could celebrate the divine offices in it again. On May 8, 1906, the church was rebuilt, inspired by the architecture of the cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris, being solemnly blessed on September 19, 1907.
Chapel and Solar de Nª Srª da Piedade
The Solar de Nossa Senhora da Piedade, also known as Quinta da Piedade, is a Madeiran country house with a chapel, bright pink and covered by hip roofs with Moorish tile. Access to the three-storey house is over a cobblestone path paved with rolled stones. Access from the house to the chapel is through the choir. This property belongs to the Heirs of Francisco João de Vasconcelos do Couto Cardoso, son of the last Majorat of Jardim do Mar, Luiz de Vasconcellos do Couto Cardoso Beliago Esmeraldo Bettencourt e Silva, an entailment instituted in the sixteenth century. The chapel of Nª Srª da Piedade dates from 1736 and was built by João de Couto Cardoso. It was rebuilt and expanded in 1825, at the behest of Francisco João de Vasconcelos Couto Cardoso. There are records that in the year 1921, it served as a Parish Church.
The Francisco João Vasconcelos do Couto Cardoso Mill
Built in 1900 by Francisco João Vasconcelos Couto Cardoso, nephew of the Baron of the parish, the mill served to grind sugarcane and to manufacture brandy in two stills. It was powered by water initially and later by steam. It was leased in 1907 to José de Sousa and his wife, Sofia Vieira de Sousa, eventually being sold to Maria Pureza Sumares and her husband, António Gonçalves Sumares, in 1921. The chimney and part of the architectural structure of the building still remain today.
Watermill do Jardim do Mar
Water mill located at Sítio das Roseiras, right at the beginning of the path that connects Jardim do Mar to Prazeres, which still contains its equipment. The date of its construction is not known. It was an important piece of utilitarian equipment used to transform wheat into flour and served the populations of the parish of Jardim do Mar and neighbouring parishes. This mill worked all year round and was donated to the local Parish Council in 2005 by the owners José Maria Ferreira and his wife, Maria Leopoldina Sumares Ferreira.
Portinho Pier
One of several ports in the municipality of Calheta, located in the Portinho area, in Jardim do Mar. It is a single spur pier in "I". After Paulo Dias de Almeida mentioned in 1817 that the parish of Jardim do Mar "has no capable port", it was the object of works in 1904 by the contractor José Ferreira, and in 1928 by Manuel Abreu Mendes.
