Cultural heritage constitutes and represents the historical richness, both of a community and of humanity, it is the identity of a people that must be preserved and valued, and, therefore, it is up to us to safeguard it for the benefit of future societies.

This project, developed in partnership with the Center for Educational, Cultural and Social Studies and Development (CEDECS), focuses on preserving the memory and culture of Calheta, with the aim of promoting and making known the wealth of our built heritage, thus recording its traditions, customs, characteristics and, above all, the historical landmarks that have marked the history of our Municipality since the beginning.

Project done by Daniela Moura under the coordination of Isabel Paulina Gouveia (CEDECS) as part of the internship carried out at Calheta City Council between June 1, 2022 and May 31, 2023.
