This sport arrived in Madeira at the end of the 1980’s earning a significant number of enthusiasts on the Island. The municipality of Calheta offers prime conditions for this sport.
There are various areas to start a flight within Calheta, chosen by the participants according to their level of experience, noting however a great adherence to the civil parish of Arco da Calheta.
Paragliders can thus enjoy the stunning scenery and the blue of the Atlantic. You can have your baptismal flight and learn to fly by contacting Aeroclube da Madeira.
